Torfhaus (15.53 miles / 25 km)

This is the highest settlement in the Harz at over 800 metres. In addition to the informative National Park Visitor Centre, it also offers opportunities for sporting activities throughout the year, such as hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and skiing. The 18 km (round trip) long walk via the Goethepad to the Brocken at 1141 metres also starts from the visitor center, which in clear weather offers a breathtaking view over the Harz, a "must do" for every visitor to the Harz!
